Course Overview
The Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis equips learners with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations involving cardiac arrest or anaphylaxis. This qualification is designed for individuals who have a personal interest or a professional/voluntary responsibility to provide emergency care—whether in the workplace, at home, or in community settings.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Assess a casualty in an emergency situation
- Place a casualty in the recovery position
- Perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Safely use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Recognize and manage anaphylaxis effectively
Entry Requirements
There are no formal prerequisites for this course. Entry is at the discretion of the training centre. However, learners should:
- Be aged 16 or older
- Be capable of working at Level 3 or above
- Be physically able to perform CPR on a person lying on the floor
- Have sufficient English language skills to complete assessments and understand course content
Course Format and Assessment
- One-day practical training session at the academy
- Assignments, written assessments, and practical exams are required to successfully pass the course
