Q. Who is behind the 2018 UK PMU Conference?

In its third year now, the 2018 UK PMU Conference was an initiative founded by renowned Permanent Makeup Artist and Master Class host Theresa Wild. With an award winning salon and successful clinic in her own right, Theresa had over the years attended numerous international conferences and wanted to create an event which welcomed global trainers to the UK, whilst providing a unique opportunity for the next generation of technicians to come together once a year to share their experiences, expand their industry connections and have the opportunity to meet highly acclaimed Micropigmentation Artists on a 121. The 2018 conference is a multi-branded event with interactive participation. In addition to showcasing some of the latest technologies and techniques on the market, there will also be the opportunity for delegates to talk to experts in the field of communications and PR who will be on site throughout the conference to provide complementary advice regarding brand development. Theresa works with her team of dedicated industry pros who collectively ensure that you have an experience that exceeds expectations.

Q. Who is the 2018 PMU Conference for?

The conference has been designed for qualified and practicing Permanent Makeup Artists, Cosmetic Tattoo Artists and Aestheticians who wish to expand their portfolio of services in the fields of micropigmentation, tattoo removal and medi-aesthetics.

Q. When is the conference being held?

The 2018 UK PMU Conference will take place on the 3rd and 4th March, 2018 at the four star Hilton London Heathrow Airport Hotel, Terminal 4 Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, TW6 3AF UK, making travel accessible for both UK and international delegates.

Q. Why has the conference venue changed this year?

Whilst we were very happy with the service and conference facilities provided by the Arora Gatwick/Crawley Hotel, we wanted to change the venue this year and move conference closer to London Heathrow Airport, where many of our speakers and international delegates fly into. The Hilton London Heathrow Hotel can be reached from Terminal 4 via a covered walkway and short 10 minute walk, making the venue ideal for our UK and international delegates

Q. When reserving accommodation at the Heathrow Hilton Hotel, will it be necessary to quote a group booking number?

The hotel has reserved 100 hotel rooms specifically for conference delegates, however due to it being situated adjacent to one of the world’s busiest airports, early bookings will be necessary to guarantee a room.  A group booking code will be provided shortly which delegates will need to quote when securing their accommodation by phone and email.

Q. How far away from the centre of London is the Heathrow Hilton Hotel?

The Hilton London Heathrow Airport Hotel can be reached from central London in 15 minutes via the LHR Express. The Hilton London Heathrow Airport connects to Terminal 4 at London Heathrow Airport via a covered walkway (10 minutes walk). From Terminal 4 delegates are able to take the Piccadilly line directly into central London, or connect with the Heathrow Connect / Heathrow Express to London Paddington Station, for those who wish to extend their trip and do some sightseeing or shopping in one of the most famous capital cities of the world. There are signs to the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Hotel from Terminal 4, departures level. For delegates arriving into Terminals 1, 2 & 3 take the Heathrow Connect / Heathrow Express train (free to terminal 4).The Hotel Hoppa service H57, leaves the hotel to terminal 5 every half an hour from 04:48 – 23:18 (cash payment is required).

Q. How do I get to the Hilton London Heathrow Hotel if driving?

From motorway junctions M25 Jct. 14, M4 Jct. 3 and M3, follow the signs to London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4. At the Terminal 4 roundabout take the 3rd exit (sign posted A30 Central London & Hilton Hotel) and an immediate 1st left, which will bring you to the hotels entrance.

Q. Are there other hotels where I can stay?

Conference delegates are welcome to book alternate accommodation, however we highly recommend that individuals stay onsite at the Heathrow Hilton Hotel and take advantage of the group booking fees made available.

Q. How many tickets will be available to the 2018 UK PMU Conference?

We pride ourselves on creating a personal and inviting atmosphere in which individuals have the opportunity to network with fellow delegates and gain the most from each speaker presentation and live practical demonstration. The conference has been designed to facilitate 100 places only, aligning our ethos of niche bespoke training with first class education delivery and outstanding service levels.

Q. Do I have to bring my own PMU Machine?

Yes, each delegate table will be fully equipped with power sockets for your PMU device. Latex practice pads will be provided, in addition to notepads and sample pigments so that you’re able to replicate the techniques demonstrated by each speaker as they are being demonstrated on the main stage.

It is the responsibility of each delegate to provide information to the event host in advance of the conference regarding the power and wattage/voltage of their respective PMU machines, which they will be bringing with them, in addition to confirmation that the device has had a certified portable appliance test by a qualified electrician within the last twelve months.  In accordance with UK legislation and hotel health and safety regulations this information must be provided in advance of the conference by each delegate. Failure to comply with this request may result in delegates not being able to use their PMU device at the conference.  Delegates will also need to bring travel adaptors with them, as all electric sockets provided by the hotel will fit UK plugs only.  Delegates will be unable to buy or hire adaptors onsite at the hotel, so must ensure that they bring their own.

Q. Will I be able to practice on live models?

Speakers will be demonstrating their specialist techniques on live models throughout the both days which will be showcased on large repeater screens, throughout the conference room. Delegates will not practice on models, however will have the opportunity to use practice pads to develop their skills, using their own PMU devices.

Q. How long will ticket registration be open for?

Registration will remain open until all tickets have been sold. The UK PMU Conference is an extremely popular event with delegates flying from around the world to attend, so it is advisable to secure your place by paying a deposit. Expressing an interest in the conference and previous registration of your details with us, does not guarantee ticket availability. A wait list will be in place for those who have been unable to secure a place at the event with individuals being notified of availability one month before the event.

Q. Is the Gala Dinner included in my ticket price?

There are two ticket options available for the conference, one which includes the gala dinner and two day event entry and the other for day bookings only. If you would like to attend the gala dinner and champagne reception, please select the two day option.

Q. Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

Yes, as a permanent makeup professional it is important to keep up to date with current industry developments and market trends and be able to demonstrate to your clients that you undertake regular continuing professional development. Certificates of attendance will be given out at the end of the conference, or provided at the end of the day for those who are attending on a day pass only.

Q. Will I be allowed to record or video presentations taking place throughout the conference?

Any video or audio recordings of the 2018 UKK PMU Conference will be strictly prohibited, without the prior authorisation of the conference Host. An official film production team will be onsite throughout the event and organisers will be taking photographs to live stream onto social media, however if you do have special requirements please don’t hesitate to notify us of these in advance of the conference, to ensure your learning needs are met. Whilst the organiser will be more than happy for you to take images and short video clips of speakers, prolonged filming or recording will not be permitted.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

Deposits are no- refundable, however if the full price of your ticket has been paid in advance, it will be possible to receive your money back without incurring any additional charges (excluding the deposit) up to 3 months prior to the conference taking place. If a cancellation is requested 2 months before the event, delegates will be required to pay 75% of the total ticket price in addition to the deposit.  A 100% no refund policy will be applied to any cancellations made 30 days before the event. Tickets are non- transferable and upon purchase, individuals are providing confirmation that they are qualified and practicing Permanent Makeup Artists, Cosmetic Tattooists, Microbladers or Clinical Aestheticians who follow strict health and safety procedures and hold public liability insurance.

Q. Who will be eligible to enter the 2018 UK PMU Conference Awards?

Application for the entry to the 2018 UK PMU Conference Awards will be open to conference delegates only. Categories and terms and conditions will be announced shortly. Awards will be presented by Theresa Wild the conference host and conference speakers and will be judged in advance of the event taking place.
